1) What I really NEED from a Mentor is 80% strictness combined with 20% gentleness. There is much truth to the saying: Spare the rod, spoil the child. Today, we live in a very spoiled society where desires must be met, and they must be met NOW! I know that if I want to be successful and in the Top 20 percent in my field, then I will just have to buckle down and get that difficult 80% of discipline from my mentors.
2) Mentors are who I cling to for inspiration. The top mentors in my life are my Father, my husband and my current CEO. I can't imagine living life without these leader/mentors - I have submitted myself to their mentorship because I know that they are the ones who can push me to the finish line simply because of one reason - I CAN'T PUSH MYSELF. Like a car, I need help from the outside!
Recently, I found a wonderful fitness coach who will help me achieve my fitness and fat-removal goals by year-end. Just knowing I have someone holding me on a tight leash is a big comfort and keeps me away from late-night stress eating and skipping work outs.
3) I am already a Mentor to my lovely 2 young adult children and to the younger ladies at my work and church. But I would love to widen my sphere of infuence and be a mentor to more people who need to wake up and get crackin'.
